Description:

Tone's Minced Onion is domestically grown. This mechanically dehydrated product is uniformly minced with a consistent color and flavor. The flavor is very similar in characteristics to garlic, but is much milder and much sweeter. Serving Suggestions Use in foods where a prominent onion texture is desired, as in marinated vegetables, pasta salads, vegetable or meat soups, Italian or tomato based sauces, taco meat or lasagna. Add to casseroles, salad dressings, marinades or meat rubs. Rehydrate for 10 minutes in twice the volume of water; drain. If used in moist foods like sauces, soups, or stews, rehydration is not required. One pound of Tone's Minced Onion equals 8 lbs. of raw, prepared onions. 2 tablespoons of Tone's Minced Onions equal 1/3 cup fresh minced onion, or 1 medium chopped onion.

5My wife loves this garlicNov 17, 2011
By Robert A. Vanwagenen "history buff"
We used to have a membership at one of the wholesale clubs where we would purchase this product. My wife loves the large size as she uses garlic in many of her recipes. The quality seems consistently good. And now I just order it through Amazon without having to pay an annual fee.

5Loves OnionOct 09, 2011

Tone's Minced Onion Are hard to find on the shelf In my home town so when I found them on line I grabbed them. We have used this product for a long time. I use them in almost every thing I cook, from scrambled eggs to tarter sauce. Tone's is the best I have found and the jar is big enough that I don't have to get two or three jars every time I go to the Grocery store.

5Just what I neededSep 19, 2011
By Kenneth A. Patterson "The Haunted Studios(tm)"
OK, call me crazy, but I was trying to make a passable version of a McDonald's Cheeseburger using a veggie burger. . . . If you have ever had a McCheese, you know that it tastes of mild onions, ketchup, and pickle. These diced onions rehydrate into exactly what I needed and now I can make my veggie burger with the taste I wanted.

This is important for me since here in the Frozen North of Minnesota there are weeks during the winter that we don't leave home, and getting this from amazon is a lifesaver!
